Another type of rust-proof aluminum alloy is a heat-treatable Al-Zn-Mg-Cu alloy with high tensile strength, excellent seawater corrosion resistance, good fracture toughness, low notch sensitivity and good Molding process performance. Suitable for the manufacture of seaplane skins and other high-strength sheet metal parts that require corrosion resistance.
The rust-proof aluminum alloy mainly contains alloying elements such as manganese and magnesium. Ai-Mn alloys have higher corrosion resistance and strength than pure aluminum due to the action of manganese, and have good weldability and plasticity, but have poor cutting properties. The Al-Mg alloy has a higher density than pure aluminum than the Al-Mn alloy due to the action of magnesium, and has a relatively good corrosion resistance. The aging effect of the rust-proof aluminum alloy is extremely weak and can only be hardened by cold deformation, but the plasticity is significantly reduced.
